2. “Large Brother, Where Fart Thou?”

Season 7, Episode 5

What happened?: With Tina in detention and Bob and Linda getting their taxes done, Louise and Gene are left home alone. After having a pretty uneventful day, the two decide to throw a rotten melon over the fire escape. Louise doesn’t realize that Logan is under there and hits him, resulting in Logan threatening them.

Louise only makes things worse and gets tricked by him until Gene sticks up for both of them. The episode ends with Louise hugging Gene, a huge rarity.

Why it’s one of Gene and Louise’s best: As far as Gene and Louise’s episodes go, it’s rare that the two are paired up alone. This time, they are and it leads to mischief. That’s probably the reason why but “Large Brother, Where Fart Thou?” is an excellent example of Gene being a great big brother. He protects her when it seems hopeless and since Gene shies away from trouble, it was nice to see him stand up for Louise.

As for Louise, she assumed the role of scared little sister rather than the boss. While we don’t see many one-on-one moments with Gene and Louise, this was an adorable episode. Of all the episodes on the list, this was one I knew I couldn’t skip out on. The episode might not be anyone’s favorite but it perfectly illustrates the sibling relationship between Gene and Louise.
