Grey’s Anatomy fans were shocked to read that Justin Chambers is leaving. Now we have some major questions about storylines involving him.

Justin Chambers is leaving Grey’s Anatomy. In fact, he’s already left, with his last episode being the 350th episode. While that would have been a nice milestone had everyone been prepared, we’ve ended up with some major storylines left open with him leaving.

I’m by no means knocking Chambers for walking away from the series. There is something that’s happened behind the scenes, and it sounds like it’s to do with his mental health. I’m all in support for someone walking away from something that isn’t good for them mentally. However, from a Grey’s Anatomy fans and TV viewer perspective, I have to bring up the questions we have for the show moving forward.

5. How is the show going to handle this?

What is Grey’s Anatomy going to do with the exit? How will his disappearance be mentioned and handled? At least when it was Yang, there was a big storyline with her moving to Switzerland, and she’s always been an important part of the show through texts and that handhold at Derek’s funeral (yes, that was supposed to be Yang).

The last we heard, Karev had gone to see his mom, who is sick. Is this where he’ll stay? Will her health deteriorate so much that he decides to leave Pac North as chief and return home permanently?

With the 350th episode his last one, there needs to be something done on-screen to manage his exit. I would hope he’d feel up to filming just one more episode for a goodbye.
