Manifest: What does Grace’s Baby Daddy reveal mean about the baby?
Grace has found out who the father of her baby is in an unconventional way. What does this reveal mean for the baby in Manifest Season 2?

Despite saying she didn’t want to know who the father of the baby was until the birth, Grace agreed to a paternity test in Manifest Season 2, Episode 2. She didn’t need the paternity test, though, learning the paternity in an unconventional way.
It turns out that just as she was about to have the bloodwork taken, Grace got a calling. “Stop!” a voice called out in her head.

This made it immediately clear that the baby is Ben’s. It turns out that the ability to have callings is now hard-wired in the DNA and it can be passed on. There may be other ways that the DNA can be passed on (is it in the blood and it can be passed on through transfusions?) but that’s not the concern right now.
What is a concern is what the baby being Ben’s child and having the callings means for this baby in the series. After all, there’s a huge date looming over the Stones right now.
Ben, Cal, and Michaela Stone have just five years to live. Their Death Date (and the Death Date of anyone who has time-traveled) is looming over them. But is it possible that this Death Date is, like the callings, hardwired into the DNA? Could it be possible that this baby also has a Death Date before he or she is even born?
What a way to start a birth, right? Congratulations! You have five years with your baby—or however long the baby has. That would put a huge dampener on the birth and leave Grace certainly struggling to bond with the child, postpartum depression or not.
It’s certainly going to push Ben into researching faster. He’s going to not just want to stop himself, his son, and his sister from dying, but he’ll also want to protect his unborn child.
There are so many questions now that we’ve had this huge reveal. And what a twist it’s been! It’s certainly exciting but it’s worrying at the same time, and I can’t help but fear that things aren’t going to be great for Grace during this pregnancy.
It’s something showrunner Jeff Rake knows is coming up. Questions need to be answers, but he’s not sharing anything just yet.
