After an awesome start getting to know the characters, we’re now into the big storylines. Here’s what to expect and how to watch 9-1-1: Lone Star Episode 2.

9-1-1: Lone Star‘s series premiere brought us an introduction to the various characters on the series. Now it’s time to get into the stories and high-risk saves. Here’s what to expect and how to watch 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 1, Episode 2.

This is the episode to judge more than the pilot. Pilot episodes aren’t written for us. They’re for the network execs, so need to have pretty contained storylines and offer a plan for the future. Now it’s time to see some bigger storylines to develop and some of the crazy calls that we’re used to on 9-1-1 right now. Shark on a highway, anyone?

Episode 2 will see Owen forced to face his illness. What a way to start the series off by giving our lead character cancer! It comes from the chemicals and smoke that Owen inhaled during 9/11, but he’s not off the job just yet. And he is going to fight this. It looks like Michelle is going to be the woman he turns to for some moral support.

However, Michelle has problems of her own. Her sister is missing and she’s sure her sister is dead. Yet, there isn’t any evidence of that. So, did Michelle’s sister just run away? Possibly, but Michelle seems to have a lead and she is willing to follow it.

Then there’s TK, who is getting closer to Carlos. The two got to know each other in the series premiere, and now it’s time for them to get closer. TK does seem like the sort of guy who will jump in too fast and too hard, which is how he got his heart broken with Alex. Can he do this a little slower this time?

I love the diverse casting for 9-1-1: Lone Star, although at times it did feel forced and used to make a point instead of just giving us an awesome diverse cast like 9-1-1 has. But I’ll let it slip for the pilot episode since, again, that was written for the execs.

Check out the 9-1-1: Lone Star Episode 2 promo and synopsis to get an idea of what to expect:

"The crew faces a mercury poisoning outbreak and a wave pool disaster; Owen must come to terms with his illness; Michelle follows a new lead on her missing sister; TK is unsure how to handle his budding relationship with Carlos."
