Someone Great

Getting over a breakup is hard, but trying to move on from a relationship of nine years is even harder. In Someone Great, Jenny Young, played by Gina Rodriguez, gets her dream job as a music journalist at Rolling Stone and must move to San Francisco from New York. Unexpectedly, Jenny’s boyfriend breaks up with her, which causes Jenny’s downward spiral.

With help from her best friends, Jenny attempts to move on and in turn, finds closure when she least expects it. If that’s not enough of a selling point, then come for Gina Rodriguez rapping to Lizzo in the kitchen. It will be worth your time.

When We First Met

Adam DeVine was born to be in romantic comedies like When We First Met. DeVine plays Noah Ashby, a man who is deeply in love with his recently-engaged best friend, Avery Martin (Alexandra Daddario). Noah had a chance to win Avery over on the first night they met, but he ended up in the friend zone.

Thanks to a magical photo booth, Noah travels back in time to the night he first met Avery and tries to change the past. After traveling to the past a few times, Noah realizes that when he changes the past, the future deals with the repercussions. DeVine’s charm and wittiness shine in this easy-to-watch film.

The Spectacular Now

Do you know what it means to live in the now? This is the fundamental question tackled in The Spectacular Now. Miles Teller portrays Sutter Keely, a popular high school senior who has spent most of his time partying and hanging out aka living in the now. When his girlfriend breaks up with him, Sutter passes out on a front lawn overnight. His fellow classmate, Aimee Finecky (Shailene Woodley), wakes him up and they soon begin a romantic relationship.

While Aimee plans for college, Sutter focuses on rekindling with his absentee father and drinking as much as he can. The Spectacular Now will bring viewers back to that special time in high school where the future was unknown and spending time with your friends was the most important thing in your life.
