To qualify for this list, the twist simply has to have shock value. If it had never been done before on any edition of the show, fantastic. If it is still talked about today whether that be on the show or by the fans, that helps its case even more. Number 3 on our list is international players are brought into the house on Big Brother Canada 4.

No. 3: International players enter the game

During the first week of Big Brother Canada 4, fans got to vote on one of two players who had previously played before to enter the game. The catch was, they had played the game in another country, where the format was likely different from what Canadians are used to.

The choices were Jase Wirey from the United States, Tim Dormer from Australia, Veronica Graf from Italy, and Nikki Grahame from the United Kingdom. Tim and Nikki were selected to enter the house and were given immunity for their first week in the house.

Tim proved to be one of the best players the series has ever seen while Nikki provided for some great comedic moments and drama. Nikki finished 7th after being blindsided. Tim finished 3rd after failing to win the final HOH.

This was shocking because no version of Big Brother anywhere had ever added all-stars from another country to their cast before. None have done it since. It really helped this twist that the players added became such huge hits in the Canadian version.
