Beth tells a lie to save her life, while Ruby and Stan get a safe word. Here are the biggest questions to come from Good Girls Season 3, Episode 3.

A lot went down in Good Girls Season 3, Episode 3, setting up for some major storylines in the next few episodes. As Beth told a lie to save her life, Ruby and Stan arrange a safe word so he can stay out of the “book club” business.

Of course, as with any episode, there were some major questions that came from this “Egg Roll,” which just happened to be the safe word. Here are my biggest questions for Good Girls Season 3, Episode 3.

5. When will Annie have something bigger to do?

More from NBC

I guess this is just a general question. For the last two seasons, we’ve watched Annie be more like a third wheel. While Sadie/Ben has had some big storylines, Annie has just kind of been an aside. She’s there to hook up with guys, and that seems to be the case for Season 3.

Most of the time, Mae Whitman has offered some funny asides, but never contributed a lot to the conversations or the situations. Please can that change? While she may not be the smartest of the women, she’s not all that dumb. It’s time to stop treating her like that.

4. Will Stan help the women again?

Poor, Stan. He wants nothing to do with the illegal business, and you can’t really blame him for that. It cost him his job during the second season. Of course he wants to avoid it now. But it’s not going to be that easy.

After creating a safe word so that Ruby can get on with it but he can stay out of it (the less he knows the better), he’s now learned that the women may need his help. Their cash is in the truck of a now-arrested-again criminal. Will Stan help to get it out?

3. Who will the women turn to next?

Now that their lead money runner is in jail, the women will need to find someone else to wash their cash. Things aren’t looking all that great. So, what will their next actions be?

Beth seems to think they should stop the money right now. After all, Rio is still alive and he could turn them in within a second. He wants to get his revenge. Wouldn’t it be better for the cops to have nothing on the women? But we all know they can’t possibly do that, right?

2. Can Beth really trust Rhea?

Beth has told Rhea that she isn’t really pregnant. Why was that even a good idea? She had just apologized for befriending her under false pretenses, sure, but Beth is way too trusting.

Rhea is Rio’s ex. There’s a lot on the line for her should Rio decide to make her life a misery, including their son. Of course she’s going to choose her son over Beth. So, if it came down to it, she’ll likely turn on Beth when she needs to.

1. How long has it been since Rio was shot?

This is a question I went digging for. After all, it’s important for the pregnancy storyline.

Season 2 happened roughly four months ago in terms of the story. That means Beth would have to be more than four months pregnant if she was with Rio’s baby. Would he kill her if he found out this “baby” isn’t his? Or would he let the “baby” live? After all, he does have some sort of heart.

Rio didn’t believe Beth’s pregnancy story, which is why he wanted the doctor’s approval. Beth managed to get around that one, but now Rio wants a paternity test. Uh oh!

But considering she’d have to be more than four months pregnant and would be showing right now, surely he knows that this can’t be his child even if there was a baby. He’s not stupid!
