Box Office Earnings: The budget for this movie isn’t known, and it didn’t premiere overseas. The small picture turned out to be a big surprise, though, and accumulated nearly $8 million domestically. This isn’t only great because it’s a movie from the early 90s, but it’s a rated-R feature and had a limited-release.
Critical Acclaim: It wasn’t until the movie arrived in theaters that word-of-mouth helped its popularity. At Rotten Tomatoes, Dazed and Confused has a 91% score from critics and 90% from audiences. The coming-of-age comedy is now considered a classic and has a cult following.
What’s it about: The movie is set during the last day of school and follows the shenanigans and adventures of a group of high schoolers who are eager for the arrival of summer. They don’t all know each other, but their paths quickly intersect.
Simply the Best: Not only is the movie known as one of the best comedies from its time, but the ensemble cast all went on to become big names — you’ll recognize Matthew McConaughey, Adam Goldberg, Milla Jovovich and other. Watch Dazed and Confused to see a side Affleck you haven’t met before!
