Production of Big Brother Canada 8 has been suspended due to circumstances in Ontario, Canada. This comes in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Production has pulled the plug on Big Brother Canada 8. This comes amidst developments in Ontario, the province where the Big Brother Canada house is located, over COVID-19 (coronavirus) fears.

The provinces of Ontario and Quebec were recently placed on lockdown to curb the COVID-19 Pandemic. As a result of the lockdowns, all non-essential businesses have been forced to close for 14 days. Big Brother Canada was not deemed essential, forcing production to halt. There are currently no plans to resume Season 8 at a later time.

"“Big Brother Canada is a labour of love for so many, and even though it hurts to say goodbye to the season, it’s the right thing to do. On behalf of the incredible people who put this show together, thank you to everyone who started this journey with us. Please take care and be safe!”"

The show will air two final episodes before officially saying good-bye to Season 8. The first will take place on Wednesday, March 25 at 7 pm eastern. The second will take place one week later on Wednesday, April 1 at 7 pm eastern. This season will forever go down as the weirdest season in Big Brother history.
