Tiger King on Netflix: Will there be a second season?

Tiger King is Netflix’s latest sensation and we can’t get enough of Joe Exotic! Will it get a second season? If so, when will it premiere?
Joe Exotic appeared on Netflix on Friday, March 20, in the now hit series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, and it has been all fans can talk about since! If you haven’t checked it out yet, you are missing out on a lot of drama (and a murder mystery). Get in on the hype today and binge-watch the docuseries! What else are you going to be busy doing? We all know you’re at home indefinitely. Spoilers ahead!
Jokes aside, audiences want more of Joe Exotic. They demand his freedom and for the murder/mysterious disappearance of Carole Baskin’s husband to be looked into. We would also love an update on everyone involved in Tiger King. All of this to say, it’s obvious we need a second season! Will Netflix deliver?
Will there be a Tiger King season 2? Unfortunately, Netflix has not renewed the docuseries for a second season just yet! But don’t worry, this is normal. It can take a few weeks after the premiere of a series for the streaming service to announce a renewal (or cancelation).
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rebecca Chaiklin, one of the producers, shares that they have “a crazy amount of footage and it’s a story that’s still unfolding. We’re not sure yet, but there could be a follow-up on this story.”
We would absolutely love a follow-up story! Where is everyone now? How did Baskin deal with the hate (that she obviously didn’t think she’d get)? Will Joe Exotic get someone to take another look at his case? We need answers.
Tiger King Season 2 premiere date: Assuming that Tiger King is renewed, it typically takes about 12 months from its premiere date for another season to debut. However, we have to take the coronavirus into consideration. With the entertainment world of TV and movies on hold indefinitely, we’re not even sure when Tiger King Season 2 can begin filming. We may not see a second season until 2022. We’ll be sure to keep you posted!
