Dynasty power rankings: Is Fallon canceled?
By Reed Gaudens
Fallon faces another online cancellation as Dynasty heats up both Blake’s unholy union with Liam’s mom and Cristal’s wandering eye.
Sorry, folks. You’ll have to save your invite to the #FallonCarringtonIsOverParty for her next cancellation. Dynasty forces Fallon to confront being canceled by the internet, but she manages to learn a valuable lesson about herself from unlikely podcast advice guru Alexis. At the same time, Blake teams up with Liam’s mother to tear Fallon and Liam apart, but it’s Blake’s own marriage that’s worse for the wear, as is Sam’s friendship with Kirby after a hotel heist at Culhane’s birthday party.
From powerful to powerless, we’re ranking Carrington manor’s best and brightest on their quest for control. Here’s how the power struggle stacked up in the latest episode of Dynasty Season 3. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)
1. Kirby
One week after landing a coveted gig as the La Mirage’s event coordinator, Kirby’s running the place’s parties like a well-oiled machine. But she keeps clashing with the boss, which puts her job on the line. When she approaches Sam about hiring an assistant, his insistence on hiring his pal Ramy lands with a thud.
Kirby wisely still doesn’t trust Sam’s not-so-reformed former stealing buddy, and she winds up right when Ramy makes off with the money from Sam’s safe. Sam tries to make nice with Kirby the next day, but she stands up for herself against Sam’s wishy-washy friendship.
2. Blake
After last week’s unholy union between Blake and Liam’s devious mother Laura, we could have anticipated Blake to remain camped out at the bottom of the leaderboard. But Blake surprises us yet—even if that union got a lot more unholy.
For most of the episode, we’re led to believe that Blake and Laura have teamed up to break up Fallon and Liam in exchange for blocking the sale of Carrington Atlantic. However, Blake clued Falliam in on the scheme so they could play the part of a couple headed for splitsville and Blake could get his company. Who knew Blake and Laura would wind up kissing?!
3. Fallon
Once again, Fallon gets canceled for being… well, herself. (Brief aside: Fallon would definitely get canceled for saying something offensive and insensitive on Instagram Live during quarantine. Think Vanessa Hudgens but 10 times worse.) Less than glowing employee reviews leak online and reveal Fallon to be a “horrible boss.” She’s ripped to shreds on the popular podcast Love Sydney by guest Gigi Henry, who Fallon wanted to design her wedding dress.
No matter how hard Fallon tried, she couldn’t repair her image by appearing on the podcast or find an in with Gigi Henry. But she and Alexis share a rare heartwarming and reparative moment as mother and daughter.
4. Cristal
Blake isn’t the only one with a wandering eye at Carrington manor. Cristal continues to work on a charity gala at the hospital and, let’s be honest, the logistics of that mess are a bit of a snoozer. She and Adam lock horns yet again, but neither of them seems too interested.
At the center of their fight is Father Collins, the deciding vote in both of their causes? Who knows, the charity gala disaster hasn’t taken liftoff yet. But Cristal and Father Collins’ extracurricular activities sure have. Even though the chemistry isn’t there, Cristal gives into her marital woes and kisses Father Collins.
5. Culhane
If Culhane hadn’t learned some key information, this would be a very different conversation. He starts to question Vanessa’s motivation as Dominique and The House of Devereaux continue to manufacture every moment. The waters get murkier before Culhane’s pajama-themed birthday party, where Dom steals his announcement thunder by one-upping with Vanessa’s chart news. But after the party, Anders brings him a recording of Dominique and Vanessa plotting without the cameras around. He’d be a fool not to keep this information tucked away in his back pocket.
Honorable mentions:
Adam catches Cristal kissing Father Collins at the hospital. (Oh, by the way, Adam survived the liver surgery and now has nothing to lose!) He’s using that against her, right?
Did Kirby overreact to Sam admitting he was wrong about Ramy, or was she justified in being hurt about his fair-weather trust? She made some points, but it felt like a lot.
After all this buildup for the big Falliam wedding, it’ll be a bummer if
Dynasty
didn’t get to film it for the season finale, if it had been planned for the finale. Fingers crossed.
