The Baker and the Beauty: 5 best moments from the series premiere
By Mads Lennon
2. Daniel uses his second wish to win favor with his sister.
As Noa points out, Daniel has volleyed flirtatious remarks from Noa and her posse all night long, yet when she offers to grant him a wish, he chooses to have Noa call his sister — who is a superfan of the model’s. It’s very sweet of him to do so, as he says he did it so he could be the favorite brother for a while. Noa finds it endearing, too, pointing out that her ex-boyfriend asked her for a threesome with her best friend for his birthday.
By comparison, Daniel is the clear winner. She also gives Daniel some sound advice about Vanessa and his future. He shouldn’t settle if a life with Vanessa isn’t what he really wants. The two come close to sharing a kiss, but they’re interrupted by camera flashes as Noa remembers they’re being watched. I’m sure a kiss won’t be far off!
1. Noa visits the bakery.
Feeling downtrodden after Lewis scares him away from his dreamy night out with Noa, Daniel walks all the way home — shirtless and discovers the bakery filled the brim with customers. Noa added hashtags to her Instagram post promoting Rafael’s Bakery.
His family lets him go to sleep after attracting all the new business until his mom suddenly shakes him awake and pushes him out the backdoor. There he finds Noa waiting for him, reminding him that she still owes him a third wish. Awe! I also love Mari already, Lisa Vidal is always great.
Odds & Ends
- I am in love with the Garcia family. I hope we get a lot more scenes of them together this season. I thought it was so cute that Daniel said he hoped to find a love like what his parents have someday.
