Nico entered the Big Brother Canada 8 house on Day 1, got off to a rocky start, and never recovered. A twist saw Canada vote to keep their favorites safe from eviction in week 1. There would be no Head of Household. Instead, the four people with the fewest votes were in jeopardy of leaving and would have three chances to save themselves: a physical competition, a mental competition, and through their social game.

Nico was voted one of the four people to be in jeopardy that week. He lost the physical competition and then the mental competition. This left him as one of the two nominees along with Susanne Fuda. Susanne was able to rally the troops in her favor. Knowing Susanne had the numbers, Nico contemplated quitting the game. Minh-Ly Nguyen Cao unsuccessfully tried to rally votes to save Nico and put a target on her own back. Seeing the writing on the wall, Nico decided to self-evict rather than face the eviction vote.
