When will New Amsterdam Season 3 premiere on NBC?

We know New Amsterdam Season 3 is happening. The big question is when? When can we expect the third season to premiere on NBC?

While we’re getting reruns of New Amsterdam, they don’t beat new episodes of the series. The great news is that we know there will be a third season of the medical drama. Now you’ll want to know when New Amsterdam Season 3 will premiere on NBC.

I really wish we had some sort of date for you. I wish we had a date for me! This is one of my favorite shows on broadcast TV right now, and I have a lot of questions after the abrupt ending to the second season.

Sadly, this is a show that was shut down due to the coronavirus. TV shows haven’t been able to start up productions yet as parts of the world remain under lockdown. That’s going to remain like that for some time.

I’d like to say that the fall premieres can happen. If that was the case, we’d be able to expect New Amsterdam Season 3 to premiere during the last week of September or around then. However, filming has to start up in July for that to happen, and it may not be able to.

Writing can currently take place virtually, and a lot of writing teams are doing that. Brooklyn Nine-Nine has just started its Season 8 writers’ room virtually, so there’s no need to think that many other writers’ rooms aren’t starting up. However, filming won’t be able to take place until restrictions are lifted.

With the show filming in New York, it will be harder to start filming the new season. The city is the worst hit in the United States, so I have a feeling it will be one of the last to see restrictions lifted.

We may be in for a long break, but there’s nothing the team can do about it. Right now, the show needs our continued support and we can show that through watching the reruns.
