The first two people who are not going to win Survivors: Winners are War are going to lose it for completely different reasons.

Making it to the end of Survivor can be done various ways. First is via attacking. Think Russell Hantz. Then there is the middle-of-the-road, do nothing, anyone but me strategy. In other words, the weakest way to win. Like camping out in a dark corner of a first-person shooter. This is definitely Sandra.

The other likely reality is blending the two. Build a resume, but try not to make anyone mad. Making others mad may get you to the end, but it doesn’t guarantee a win. Again, this is the flaw to the Russell Hantz strategy. Which is what brings us to the first two contestants who won’t win.

Ben Driebergen

This dude isn’t winning. Virtually nobody likes him, and he’s been sour for weeks. If things go his way, he’s cheery. Otherwise, he sulks like a child and makes the experience unenjoyable. Additionally, he hasn’t won any individual challenges. Even if someone brings him to the end as a sacrifice, that’s all he’ll be.

And let’s be honest, Ben’s initial “win” was either completely lucky, or incredibly suspect.

Denise Stapley

Conversely, Denise has played a superb game. Not only is she the motherly figure who everyone likes, she’s genuinely played a good game. And don’t forget, she is the one who got Sandra out. That unfortunately holds weight among the other winners, because Sandra’s wins were both weak, and of the camper variety. (Sandra is essentially Upham from Saving Private Ryanand he’s no hero.)

With all that said, taking Denise to the end would be far too risky. Her social game is too strong, which is why she’ll likely go just before the final three.
