Edward & Mary: The Unknown Tudors

Dr. David Starkey is here with a new documentary. He’s focused on Edward and Mary, two half-siblings and children of Henry VIII. You’ll know them better as Mary I and Edward VI.

He goes into their lives, from youth to their short-lived reigns, looking at decisions from others that affected and shaped their personalities and decisions. After all, Mary was the apple of King Henry’s eye until Anne Boleyn came along and troubles in his marriage to Catherine of Aragon came out. And then Edward came along with his third wife, Jane Seymour. That was enough to disrupt everything, and it wouldn’t be until just before his death that Mary would even be placed back into the line of succession.

There’s one episode per monarch, and both drop on July 6.

The Yorkshire Vet Season 6

You love All Creatures Great and Small, well now it’s time to get a look at the true story. Well, sort of. The series looks at the team at Skeldale Veterinary Center, where All Creatures Great and Small author Alf Wright practiced as a vet.

We’re into the sixth season of the day-to-day lives of the vets at the clinic. It’s the beating heart of the area, and the animals are always looked after, no matter their ailments.

All eight episodes of the season will drop on July 20.
