9. Rocketman

Released in 2019, Rocketman is still one of my favorite movies. It’s based on the true story of icon Elton John, who is portrayed wonderfully by Taron Egerton. The beats (as you already know) are addicting, and the story is incredibly captivating.

The musical biopic followed Bohemian Rhapsody, but despite its similarities, had no trouble coming out as its own. And while Rami Malek, who portrays Freddie Mercury in the latter, Egerton truly does sing in the movie, and he is marvelous! Even Elton John himself commented on Egerton’s performance, stating that “I don’t see an actor, I see myself, which is an extraordinary thing for an actor to do. He’s extraordinary.” We agree!

If you didn’t catch this one in theaters, stream it now on Amazon Prime Video.

8. Inception

This movie may be over a decade old, but it’s still one of the best movies of all-time. It features an idea that, looking back, you gotta wonder how it was put together. Still, despite the brilliant and mind-bending concept and story, it wouldn’t have been as great as a film as it is if it weren’t for the cast.

Inception stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Ellen Page. The movie follows a group who are able to get inside people’s dream to obtain secret information they couldn’t otherwise get their hands on.
