Power Book II: Ghost release date, synopsis, cast, trailer, and more

All the drama and thrill continues with the season premiere of Power Book II: Ghost.

The upcoming series is the first of a four-part spinoff of the popular Starz show Power. If you’re just tuning into this one, don’t sweat it. All the plot points and drama that went down in the original series are said to be shifting into new phases and some fresh storylines.

But there’s no time like the present to catch up, and you can stream Power here.

In the plot points for Power,  James St. Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick) is a drug dealer (a.k.a. Ghost) looking to leave the criminal world behind and make a respectable come up, in one way or another. But moving on and up proves to be a case of easier said than done, especially when it comes to the cops. We’d highly recommend giving it a watch!

However, if you’re ready to jump right into the new spinoff, that’s okay, too. Apparently, many of the characters will be picking up right where they left off after the Power finale.

While it’s not yet clear what that will come to mean specifically, here’s what we know so far.

The premiere is set for Sunday, September 6 on Starz.

Much of the plot points are still somewhat of a mystery at this point, but here’s what Starz says about the first of four spin-offs:

"“Power Book II: Ghost will pick up the narrative just days after the Power finale. The sequel then follows Tariq navigating his new life, in which his desire to shed his father’s legacy comes up against the mounting pressure to save his family.”"

The powerhouse cast includes Mary J. Blige, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Michael Rainey Jr., Naturi Naughton, Paige Hurd, Daniel Bellomy, Shane Johnson, Sherri Sarum, Shalim Ortiz, and many more.

The drama series is being brought to life by executive producer and showrunner Courtney A. Kemp, along with executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
