The winner of Battle of the Belchers: Fever Dream edition is…

Comparing the two episodes, it’s tough to pick a winner. Both “Flu-ouise” and “Dream a Little Bob of Bob” both have merits. They both feature characters in unique situations and ultimately teach them both a lesson. Oddly enough, the episodes are surprisingly similar but only one reigns supreme. Sadly for Season 11, I feel like “Flu-ouise” won this round of Battle of the Belchers.

That’s not to say “Dream a Little Bob of Bob” was a bad episode because it wasn’t. It was a good Bob episode but it lacked the magic of “Flu-ouise.” However, it was nice to see Bob getting his time in the spotlight.

Ultimately, I think the episode would have been better if there had been some musical moments. Music is really what took “Flu-ouise” over the top and made it such a memorable episode. Technically, the winner of this round is “Flu-ouise.”

Overall though, both episodes were a lot of fun and gave us some much-needed depth to Bob and Louise. Between the two, “Flu-ouise” focused a lot more solely on Louise and “Dream a Little Bob of Bob” didn’t focus enough on Bob. Hopefully, this trend doesn’t continue for the rest of Season 11.

Nevertheless, both episodes were good and deserve to be celebrated for different reasons. Setting episodes in character’s dreams isn’t always easy but Bob’s Burgers makes it look like a piece of cake. It’ll be interesting to see what Linda, Tina, or Gene’s dreams are like.
