Bob’s Burgers: Battle of the Belchers Thanksgiving edition
And the winner of the Thanksgiving Belcher Battle is…Season 10.
The winner of the Thanksgiving Bob’s Burgers battle has to be Season 10’s “Now We’re Not Cooking With Gas.” That’s not to say that Season 11’s episode was bad but let’s get into why Season 10 was the winner. For me personally, it felt like Season 10 was more a traditional Bob’s Burgers Thanksgiving episode. Ultimately, the episodes are better when Bob is at the center of them and that sentiment rang true this year.
“Now We’re Not Cooking With Gas” also felt like it had much higher stakes and that Thanksgiving was a much bigger deal than this year’s. However, that’s not to say that “Diarrhea of a Poopy Kid” was a bad episode. In fact, it was a good episode but it just didn’t scream Thanksgiving and that’s the problem.
As far as Gene episodes go, it was good but for Thanksgiving, it kind of missed the mark. That’s not to say you shouldn’t have both of these episodes in your Thanksgiving binge list because you should.
If you want more Thanksgiving spirit though, then Season 10’s “Now We’re Not Cooking With Gas” should be the one you pick between the two. Then again, you can never go wrong when it comes to the Belchers and Thanksgiving.
Maybe next year, Bob’s Burgers will decide to tackle Thanksgiving and Black Friday which could be a deadly combination. Either way, the show always puts such care into their holiday episodes so there’s truly no right or wrong answer when it comes to Thanksgiving episodes.
