The setting for Virgin River on Netflix is gorgeous! But where is it really filmed?
The Netflix romantic-drama Virgin River has captured our hearts! Not only because we’re in love with Jack and Mel (and Michelle and Preacher), but the views of the town are amazing! In fact, can we vacation there this spring?
Virgin River on Netflix is inspired by the novels by Robyn Carr, and they have brought to life a wonderful setting. First, is Virgin River in California a real place? If not, where is the show filmed? Here’s what we know.
What we love the most about Virgin River, is that this town is full of friendly neighbors ready to help out. Well, almost everyone is kind. Let’s for a minute forget about the Pot Farm that is nearby, they aren’t really part of the town, anyway. And sure, some gossip, but at the end of the day, they are there for you.
In reality, small towns like that aren’t the best. These days, you think of a small country town, and “diversity” doesn’t exactly pop into your mind. Neither does the word “friendly.” Sure, it’s not a real town, but that’s what we love, it’s a fun (and romantic) escape from reality.
Where is Virgin River really filmed?
According to Oprah Mag, this is not a real place, and the filming location may disappoint you. Can you guess where it is?
I’ll give you a hint: Nearly every film and movie shoot at least a few scenes here. Did you guess? Yup. Canada. Hey, this isn’t a diss at all! On the contrary, it’s a beautiful place!
Virgin River was filmed in Vancouver and “the surrounding area,” the source shares. Here is the good news, though, you can pay the fictional town a visit! That is, if you happen to be in the area.
Oprah Mag continues to share that the Vancouver tourism board offers “an entire self-guided itinerary inspired by the show,” sounds like so much fun! Mel’s log cabin, for example, is someone’s actual home.
