Which Bob’s Burgers Christmas episode is cheerier: Season 10 or Season 11?

Holidays are a big deal with Bob’s Burgers and the Belcher family especially. While Thanksgiving seems to get the fanfare, the Belchers don’t skimp when it comes to Christmas either. In particular, Bob really loves Thanksgiving while Linda is the one who really loves Christmas with Season 10’s episode being a perfect example of that.

For Thanksgiving, I pitted Season 10 and Season 11’s episodes against each other and I’ll be doing the same thing for Christmas. Even though Christmas is about coming together, a little bit of healthy competition won’t hurt. Last year, we enjoyed “Have Yourself a Maily Linda Christmas” and this year, we have Season 11’s “Yachty or Nice” to hold us over until the next year hopefully.

Until then, it’s fun to look back at Season 10’s Christmas episode and see how it compares to Season 11’s and then deciding which one has more Christmas spirit. Christmas can be a stressful time but it’s nice to have a little bit of fun and see which episode truly decks the halls.

Before getting started, there will be spoilers from this week’s Bob’s Burgers episode, “Yachty or Nice” if you haven’t watched.

Here’s a refresher on what you missed from “Have Yourself a Maily Linda Christmas.”

Before getting into Season 11’s episode, we have to talk about Season 10’s “Have Yourself a Maily Linda Christmas.” Looking back, this episode has a pretty unique plotline and actually does a great job of showing us some unlikely pairings in the series. Obviously, Linda is part of the main story but it doesn’t shy away from showing us some moments with the other family members.

This episode follows Linda who gets a temp job at the post office but gets tested after someone wants to send a package but is told it too late. Determined to not ruin someone’s Christmas, Linda decides to take matters into her own hands and get the package delivered.

It takes her on a wild goose chase and even, gets Gene and Louise involved. Eventually, she’s able to get the package delivered and it’s an incredibly touching end to the episode.

As far as Christmas episodes go, this one is the embodiment of Christmas cheer. Ultimately, Linda gets to save the day and make someone’s Christmas. It seemed like everything was getting her way but she made it work. Additionally, we also see Bob and Tina deal with some of Gayle’s issues with her parents and it’s good comic relief. Overall, “Have Yourself a Maily Linda Christmas” has just the right amount of Christmas cheer for Bob’s Burgers episode.
