And the winner of the Bob’s Burgers Christmas showdown is…

For this year’s Christmas showdown, it was a tough one as both episodes were solid and had positive attributes. However, the episode with more Christmas cheer has to be Season 10’s “Have Yourself a Maily Linda Christmas.”

That’s not to say that “Yachty or Nice” wasn’t a good Christmas episode because it was. Between the two though, “Have Yourself a Maily Linda Christmas” felt like it was more focused on Christmas than this year’s addition.

“Have Yourself a Maily Linda Christmas” actually featured a lot more Christmas as Linda was working to get a present mailed by Christmas and the plotline was more laser-focused on that which was awesome. Meanwhile, “Yachty or Nice” didn’t really focus on Christmas other than the kid’s Santa plotline with Teddy.

The plotline of Bob and Jimmy could have been featured in a regular episode and it wouldn’t have been out of place. It was a great way to demonstrate how Christmas can make frenemies warm up to each other a little more, though.

Even though the winner was Season 10’s “Have Yourself a Maily Linda Christmas,” there is still plenty to love about “Yachty or Nice.” The episode did a great job of balancing multiple plotlines without losing the core themes of the episodes and the Belchers all having something.

It was also really funny how the writers included Teddy in the episode as Santa. Overall, neither episode was bad but “Have Yourself a Maily Linda Christmas” felt like it had more Christmas cheer.
