Dash & Lily

Sometimes, a delightful rom-com is exactly what’s needed for the Christmas season. Look no further than Dash & Lily to satisfy your rom-com needs. Set in New York City, opposites attract when the cynical Dash (Austin Abrams) and cheerful Lily (Midori Francis) serendipitously meet through a red notebook at a bookstore.

In the red notebook, Dash and Lily communicate their thoughts and feelings through a game of truth or dare. Dash and Lily trade dares back and forth, which brings them all throughout New York City. When a dare is completed, they reveal another part of their personality.

Dash & Lily is a quirky “will they, won’t they” show in the form of a teen romance. It’s silly, but in a cute, likable way that highlights the joys of young love.

 Merry Happy Whatever

An outsider trying to fit into a close-knit family is one thing, but what if that outsider has to do it around the holidays? That’s the basic premise of Merry Happy Whatever. Dennis Quaid stars as Don Quinn, a deputy sheriff and patriarch of the Quinn family. If there’s one constant in Don’s life, it’s his disapproval of his children’s significant others.

When the youngest daughter of the family, Emmy (Bridgit Mendler), brings her boyfriend Matt (Brent Morin) for Christmas, Don immediately shuns Matt. When Emmy and Matt look for permission to get married, Don puts Matt to the test to see if he’s worthy of his daughter’s love.

Merry Happy Whatever is a sitcom about families and how they are far from perfect. Add in a holiday twist and Merry Happy Whatever will remind you that as long as your family is together around the holidays, that’s all that matters.
