Soul was one of those movies intended for theaters in the summer of 2020, but plans had to change. It’s available on Disney Plus as of today.

Worried that it’s going to be like Mulan? After all, the live-action reboot went to Disney Plus and theaters, but it came at an extra cost. Fans had to decide if it was worth paying $30 on top of their Disney Plus subscription to watch the movie.

Will it come to DVD and Blu-ray in the future? More than likely. Even movies that have gone straight to the streaming service, like Mulan, have had a DVD and Blu-ray release.

What is Soul about?

The movie, created by the minds behind Inside Out, is about middle school music teacher Joe Gardner. Just as he gets his dream of performing jazz on stage, he is in an accident. His soul is detached from his body, but he refuses to move on.

Now Joe needs to work with souls in training at the Great Before to get back to his body. It’s a race against time as he needs to get there before his body dies.

Disney Pixar has a lot of great lessons for children. This is sure to be another like Inside Out and Onward for both parents and children.
