In other words, she’s a rebel with a cause. But don’t get it twisted: This interpretation of the iconic author’s private life is very much up for interpretation.

As noted by Vulture, the series “draws inspiration from the enigma of Dickinson’s poetry, building off the scarce known facts about her life.” The show’s creator Alena Smith told Vulture, “Everyone’s free to invent their own Emily Dickinson, and this is mine,” adding, “I don’t in any way say it’s the authoritative version.”

Is Dickinson returning for season 3?

Good news, Dickinson fans! Season 3 is definitely happening. The Apple TV+ series was confirmed for a third season back in October 2020. As noted by Variety, the streaming service initially announced they had renewed the series for a third season when they announced the debut date for season 2 last year.

As of right now, season 3 does not have a release date yet.
