After tossing mementos into a time capsule and leaving Riverdale in different directions, Riverdale Season 5 catches up with the crew when the dust of their post-high school lives has settled. Archie returns to his hometown to find it under the disastrous control of Hiram Lodge.

Toni catches Archie up on everything that has transpired in Riverdale since he’s been away in war, prompting their fearless leader to call on his old friends to make a comeback and save their beloved town. But of course, it won’t be as simple as a phone call and a rescue mission like old times.

As has been hinted in previews, the gang has each ended up where you might expect. Betty’s an FBI agent, Veronica’s rich and married, and Jughead’s a struggling writer. However, getting the gang back together and catching them up on lost history could be their most intriguing mystery yet.
