We’re less than a month out from the NBC premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime, the latest spin-off in the Law & Order universe.

The series will see the return of Christopher Meloni in the role of Elliott Stabler, a character who hasn’t walked the halls of the SVU since his departure in the season 12 finale. Stabler had left the force but this new show sees him picking up the badge again.

It has been a decade, however, and times have changed both in New York City and America as a whole. We don’t know how Law & Order: Organized Crime will navigate these new television waters after Hollywood reckoned with their portrayal of cops in the wake of the 2020 protests.

We do know, though, that fans are going to be excited to see Meloni in action once again. So, when will Stabler return to television and what can Law & Order fans expect from his show? Here’s what we know so far.

Law & Order: Organized Crime release date

The series is set to premiere Thursday, April 1 at 10 pm ET by launching into a crossover event with sister show Law & Order: SVU. It’s the perfect set-up for a reunion with former partners Elliott Stabler and Olivia Benson.

Law & Order Thursdays are about to be the norm from 9 pm-11 pm ET for NBC viewers, but we doubt fans of the true crime genre will be complaining.

Law & Order: Organized Crime cast

Christopher Meloni will be reprising his role as Stabler for Law & Order: Organized Crime. It’s been 10 years since he stepped into the detective’s shoes. His return to the Law & Order family is one of the most highly-anticipated role reprisals on television this year.

Along with Meloni, Tamara Taylor (Bones) will be a lead of the series. Dylan McDermott and Danielle Moné Truitt are set to play key characters in the spin-off, but we’ve yet to hear anything on their roles, or Taylor’s.
