You truly never know who might show up on your doorstep. In NBC’s This Is Us Season 5, Episode 11, that someone is Uncle Nicky.

Before Uncle Nicky’s unexpected arrival, there were some dinner parties to attend on last week’s episode of This Is Us. In the past, Jack learned the hard way about the downfalls of “credit card roulette.” After spending way too much money, Rebecca decided to run the family’s finances going forward.

On the east coast, tensions were high with Carol (Phylicia Rashad), Beth’s mother, in town. An explosive dinner led to several verbal altercations. Beth and Tess argued about her surprise relationship, Beth and Carol sparred over years of disputes, and Deja expressed her disappointment in Randall for discussing Malik’s future with the mother of his child. After the dust settled and apologies were handed out, Beth decided Carol would live at their house indefinitely.

The west coast was full of fireworks at a dinner between Kevin, Madison, Toby, and Kate. After Kevin offered to pay for everyone’s childcare, Toby yelled at Kevin, saying he didn’t need his money to raise a family. Toby also revealed that he lost his job and received no offers from other jobs. Although Kevin and Toby forgave each other, this feud will probably continue in the future.

What to expect on This Is Us tonight

After the dinner, Uncle Nicky surprisingly showed up on Kevin’s doorstep. He came to see Kevin’s children including the nephew that was named after him. Tonight’s episode will revolve around Uncle Nicky and his trip to Kevin’s house. It will also go back to the past and touch on Nicky’s time after Vietnam.
