The king of monsters has arrived! Will Godzilla vs. Kong bring movie theaters back to business? That remains to be seen. In the meantime, if you’re wondering whether or not kids can watch the movie, we’ve got some helpful suggestions!

Godzilla vs. Kong is playing in theaters. But not just a few select theaters like most movies have been these past few months, but a wide theater release. Google “Watch Godzilla vs. Kong” and you’ll find several movie theaters and even more showtimes.

Of course, if you are still not comfortable going to movie theaters, the movie is also available to stream online on HBO Max. If you want to watch the movie from the comfort of your couch, you can do so with an HBO Max subscription.

Whether you watch the movie from home or in a movie theater, you can’t miss it! Godzilla and Kong are icons. They are so popular, in fact, that you may want to watch the movie with the whole family, including the kiddos. But should you?

Is Godzilla vs. Kong for kids?

The answer is up to each parent! You know your kids best and what they can handle or are used to watching. However, I can’t imagine anyone under 6-years-old being very entertained by the movie. They may become restless when there is no action and frightened if it becomes too much.

Godzilla vs. Kong is rated PG-13 for destruction, brief language, and intense creature violence — so nothing too awful like gore, drug use, or nudity.

Common Sense Media suggests the movie for kids 9-years-old and over, which sounds just about right to me. I would even say 8-year-olds could watch it, too. Again it depends on the child.
