Where is The Twilight Zone streaming in 2021?
By Sabrina Reed
Before Black Mirror there was The Twilight Zone, a fantasy-horror anthology drama that aired from 1959-1964. Hosted by Rod Serling, the series put ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances while also making comments on society as we know it. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
Fantasy has always bridged the gap between the past, present, and future with storytelling that stretches the imagination and people’s expectations. The Twilight Zone did that in spades, frightening and thrilling audiences with stories of what happens when people or technology go too far.
It was the kind of viewing experience that saw children’s noses pressed to the glass of the television in wonder. Or left them shivering behind blankets as they peered over the top to keep watching. A classic that drew an audience ready to watch what new, perilous stories Serling had in store for them.
The series spawned spin-offs including a radio show and a movie. It was rebooted three times, the latest of which was hosted by Jordan Peele and is streaming on Paramount Plus. Both seasons of the fourth iteration of The Twilight Zone are available to stream on the platform.

But if you’re looking to watch the original black-and-white series to view the stories that started it all, then you’ll need either a Netflix or Paramount Plus subscription.
Netflix users can stream seasons 1-3 and 5 of the 1959 original. Season 4 isn’t on the platform, unfortunately. However, the entire five-season run of the first Twilight Zone is available to stream on Paramount Plus.
So, take a trip back with this blast from the past that has influenced many an anthology series with its twists and turns, genre-hopping, and all-around thought-provoking narratives. If you’re a fan of Black Mirror, you’ll enjoy this old school series that’s the blueprint and the mold for shows of its ilk.
