Mina’s deportation continues during the episode. At the end of the previous episode, she made the decision to return to Nigeria. If she goes on her own terms, she stands a chance to return if she wants to. At the same time, she feels guilty that as a good doctor, she’s left Nigeria and gone to the U.S. like so many others, leaving Nigeria’s health care system in trouble.
She’s not going back alone. AJ is heading to Nigeria with her. It’s time to take their relationship to the next level.
However, an emergency throws AJ for a loop. It looks like his mom is going to collapse, which will likely force AJ to make a huge decision. Is he really going to leave his mom behind when she needs him the most? She wants AJ to go with Mina, but it’s not that going to be that easy for him.
Cain faces reality on The Resident Season 4, Episode 9
While all that goes on, Cain needs to face the harsh reality of his future. Kit doesn’t see a future for him at Chastain. That’s something she told him a few episodes ago.
This isn’t all personal, although there may be some personal feelings there. Most of it is all about his injury sustained from the accident.
During this episode, Kit is willing to give him a chance to prove he’s ready to return to the OR. This is the moment that he may realize that his career is over. What’s he going to do then?
