We’re back to Meredith’s beach as she figures out what to do next on Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 13. Meanwhile, Jo talks to Bailey about her career.

For Meredith, it’s about her choice. Will she remain with Derek in the afterlife, or will she continue to fight to get back to her children? After all, while all her friends are important, it’s her children that she will need to fight for right now.

She’s struggling. During the promo for the episode, she tells Derek that she’s tired. Derek understands that, but he seems to believe that she should remain in the land of the living for the sake of their three children.

Back with the living, Teddy has the good news that Meredith’s X-rays look good. Webber is concerned, though. Why isn’t she waking up?

Jo wants to switch her specialty on Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 13

Meanwhile, Jo decides to talk to Bailey about her career switch. She’s fed up of the bad, and she wants to experience joy. She thinks she can get that in OB, but it will mean switching her specialty and returning to being a resident once more.

She’s willing to do that, but is Bailey willing to support it? This is likely the worst time for Jo to switch her specialty. They’re in the middle of a pandemic and there’s a shortage of surgeons. Bailey will need Jo to stick around, but how can she possibly say no?

While that goes on, Link will struggle with Amelia overstepping boundaries at work, while Winston comes up with an out-of-the-box suggestion for a patient.
