Stargirl Season 3 premiere date, cast, trailer, synopsis, and more

The great news is Stargirl Season 3 is definitely happening. The bad news is we don’t have a lot of other information just yet. Here’s what we know so far.

The CW has been big on renewals this year. Almost everything has been renewed, with some shows landing new seasons before the upcoming ones have even premiered! Stargirl is one of those shows.

Stargirl Season 2 won’t premiere until the summer. Yet, The CW has already picked up the third season off the back of the success of the first season. It’s great news as we go into the second season knowing that it doesn’t matter about a cliffhanger at the end.

However, it does mean we know very little about Stargirl Season 3 at the moment. Here’s what we do know right now, and there will be updates as they happen.

Stargirl Season 3 premiere date

We don’t have a premiere date just yet. What we do know is the first season premiered in May (which is the usual start of summer programming) and the second season is going to premiere in August 2021.

With this in mind, we’re looking at a summer 2022 premiere date for the third season. It could be any time between May and August depending on the full plans for the 2021–2022 TV season.

Stargirl Season 3 cast

We don’t yet know how the second season will end, making it hard to figure out if any of the main cast will be killed off. Usually, it’s a villain that’s killed off, but every now and then, we say goodbye to a good guy.

However, we’re expecting the following to return for now:

  • Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl
  • Yvette Monreal as Yolanda Montez/Wildcat
  • Anjelika Washington as Beth Chapel/Dr. Mid-Nite
  • Cameron Gellman as Rick Tyler/Hourman
  • Trae Romano as Mike Dugan
  • Hunter Sansone as Cameron Mahkent
  • Amy Smart as Barbara Whitmore
  • Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan/S.T.R.I.P.E.

We will likely see Meg DeLacy return as Cindy Burman/Shiv. Shiv and Stargirl are nemeses in the comics, so it makes sense to keep her around. I’d think that Eclipso would be the one killed off and Shiv would need to find someone else to do her dirty work.

Stargirl Season 3 trailer

There isn’t a trailer just yet for the season. That’s not too surprising considering it hasn’t started filming yet, and the premiere is a long way off. We probably won’t get a trailer until much closer to the premiere date, so around this time next year at the very earliest.

Stargirl Season 3 synopsis

Without seeing the ending to Stargirl Season 2 yet, we can’t say what the plot will be for the third season. We’ll be sure to update when we have more information.
