Apple TV+ is releasing another original film, CODA. Will the movie also premiere in theaters? What is it about and who stars in it? Here’s everything we know about the upcoming CODA movie.

The year 2021 has been a great one for Apple TV+. With the exception of a few shows, such as The Morning Show, the streaming service remained underrated during its first years. Now, it has several original movies and shows under its belt, and the list continues to grow.

At the top of our list, we recommend Lisey’s Story and Physical, both are Apple TV+’s latest shows to join the service. But there is much more ahead for you to check out, HERE.

From CODA‘s premiere date to what the movie is all about and where you can watch it (besides Apple TV+, of course). Here’s everything to know about the movie.

CODA movie premiere date on Apple TV+

The movie premieres on Aug. 13, 2021. It’ll drop on Apple TV+ globally, but also be released in theaters that same date.

CODA was presented to critics at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and received the Special Jury Award for Ensemble Cast, the Directing Award, the Audience Award, and the Grand Jury Prize. This movie is worth the big-screen experience, but it’s nice to know you can watch it from home, too.

What is the CODA movie about?

The film follows Ruby (Emilia Jones), a 17-year-old who is the only hearing member in her deaf family. Her whole life, Ruby has looked out for her family and been part of the family struggling fishing business. But she has bigger dreams and a talent that is discovered when Ruby joins her high school’s choir club.

Ruby has a gift for signing and is offered to join a prestigious music school by her choirmaster. But will Ruby leave her family behind to pursue her dreams?
