Snake Eyes is the latest film from Hasbro’s ultra-popular toy franchise G.I. Joe. This film will not completely follow in line with the 2009 film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and the 2013 film G.I. Joe Retaliation.

Instead, similar to another recent Paramount/Hasbro release in Bumblebee, this film will be a soft reboot for the franchise and an attempt to take the universe in a different direction.

Snake Eyes, first introduced in 1982, has had a fairly unknown backstory, so the writing trio of Evan Spiliotopoulos, Joe Shrapnel, and Anna Waterhouse will all be tasked with bringing this character to life. This film will also be directed by Robert Schwentke, who has previously directed R.I.P.D., and also the final 2/3 of the Divergent trilogy with Insurgent and Allegiant.

With Snake Eyes, Schwentke is planning to revitalize a franchise that has seen better days, and star Henry Goulding, whose career took off after the release of 2018’s Crazy Rich Asians, could be just the man to bring this beloved toy universe to the screen.

Will Snake Eyes be in theaters only or will you be able to find this film on streaming? Here’s what we know.

Can you stream Snake Eyes online?

Unfortunately, no. As of now, it looks like Snake Eyes will be in theaters only. Originally scheduled for October 2021, Paramount moved the release date forward in an effort to tap into the “Summer Blockbuster” market.

However, because this film is being released by Paramount Pictures we could be seeing Snake Eyes find its way onto Paramount and CBS’ streaming service, Paramount Plus, after the 45-day mark in theaters.
