Good Witch season 8: Is Good Witch coming back for season 8?

From the very first moment we were introduced to the town of Middleton back in 2008 in the first Good Witch movie, we quickly fell in love with the quaint and magical town as well as all of its loveable residents.

In the years that followed, we’ve made many a journey back to the quiet town where we’ve had the pleasure of watching Cassie Nightingale and all of the Middleton residents grow and evolve as they navigated life with help from a little bit of magic.

After a series of successful films, Hallmark further expanded the franchise with the launch of the Good Witch series in 2015 which has been enchanting and delighting viewers for seven seasons and nearly 75 episodes. The series has been a staple for Hallmark for seven years, but it’s been more than a decade since we’ve been venturing to Middleton to catch the latest new magical adventures with Cassie and the Merriwicks.

Now that season 7 has come to an end, what’s next for Good Witch? Below we take a look at everything we know so far about Good Witch season 8!

Will Good Witch have a season 8?

Now that season 7 has come to an end, the burning question on the minds of all fans is whether Good Witch season 8 will be happening. While the series has remained a fan-favorite in its seventh season, Hallmark Channel has canceled Good Witch meaning there will be no Good Witch season 8.

When is the last episode of Good Witch?

The final episode of Good Witch aired Sunday, July 25 with the series finale, “The Wedding.”

Why was Good Witch canceled?

When canceling Good Witch, Hallmark Channel did not reveal the reason for their decision and it remains unclear why the show is coming to an end.

Interestingly, season 7 was another solid season in the ratings with only a slight dip between seasons so it doesn’t appear the ratings were a factor. Series lead Catherine Bell also seemed game for more seasons, so it doesn’t appear the decision was made as a result of Bell wishing to leave the franchise.

It is possible that after seven seasons and more than ten movies, Hallmark thought it was time to bring the franchise to a close but the exact reason behind the decision to end the series remains unclear.

Will there be any more Good Witch movies?

Unfortunately, there does not appear to be any plans for future Good Witch movies on Hallmark Channel. While it’s possible Hallmark could look to return to Middleton for a holiday movie in the future, TVLine has reported there are no current plans from Hallmark for future films in the Good Witch franchise.
