Acorn TV in August #2: Hinterland

Love a good, gritty British drama? Hinterland is the Welsh answer to Broadchurch, and it is a must-watch throughout the month of August. All three seasons will drop, although they drop one week at a time to space out the content.

The series follows DCI Tom Mathias, a detective on the run from his past. He works with DI Mared Rhys, a local woman who knows the lay of the land and is skilled at her job. The two work on various cases around the local area throughout the three seasons, and they are dark and harrowing cases.

Hinterland Season 1 is available on Monday, Aug. 2, Season 2 is available on Monday, Aug. 9, and Season 3 is available on Monday, Aug. 16.

Acorn TV in August #3: Missing

If you prefer a full binge-watch, Missing Seasons 1 and 2 are on Acorn TV during the month. Pauline Quirke plays DS Mary Jane “MJ” Croft, who leads Dover’s Missing Persons Unit. They work together to solve disappearances with the hope of bringing families back together or bring closure.

Every missing person case makes us question how well we know the people we love. There are a lot of secrets and a lot of surprising turns of events.

All 15 episodes of the series are available on Monday, Aug. 2.
