David Schwimmer’s rep responds to new Jennifer Aniston romance rumors

Friends fans have been buzzing this week as multiple reports have come out claiming former co-stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer are dating. While the rumors have yet to be confirmed, that hasn’t stopped us from freaking out just a little bit over the possibility. It’s always amazing to see two actors fall in love both on and off-screen, and it would extra special for Friends fans to see the Rachel Green and Ross Geller stars make their fictional feelings a reality.

The romance rumors began on Aug. 9 when a website called Closer reported on the news. According to their sources, Aniston and Schwimmer started getting closer after filming the Friends reunion special earlier this year, and have been spending tons of time together. Here’s what the insider tells them:

"“After the reunion, it became clear that reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they’d always had to bury was still there. They began texting immediately after filming and, just last month, David flew from his home in New York to see Jen in LA. They’ve been spending time at Jen’s home, where she’s cooked dinners in the evenings, and have enjoyed quality time together, chatting and laughing. They were also spotted drinking wine, deep in conversation, as they walked around one of Jen’s favourite vineyards in Santa Barbara, where it was clear there was lots of chemistry between them.”"

Though everyone was hopeful about the report, it looks like Schwimmer’s rep might’ve just debunked it.

Are Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer dating?

According to The Sun, Schwimmer’s representative denies there’s anything romantic going on between the former co-stars. The rep reportedly tells the publication that there’s “no truth” to the latest rumors.

At the time of this article, neither Schwimmer nor Aniston has weighed in on the new rumors, but fans are hopeful they will sometime soon. During Friends: The Reunion, the two actors revealed that they did have feelings for one another while filming the show back in the ’90s. Of course, this brought a smile to everyone’s face as fans wondered what could have been if they ever made things official.

The stars explained during the reunion special that they never acted on their feelings, with Schwimmer stating:

"“I think at some point we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship, and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.”"

Knowing that Aniston and Schwimmer did have feelings for each other at one point certainly makes it believable that they could once again.
