What time is The Hype coming to HBO Max?

HBO Max has a new design competition on deck and it’s called The Hype.

Hosted by Complex’s Speedy Mormon, the series will pit 10 designers against one another in a streetwear competition with a cash prize of 150,000 dollars and the individual challenge prize of having a winning look be featured on StockX, the biggest streetwear reseller in the world.

In order to win, however, the contestants will need to earn the co-signs of Offset, Bephie Berkett, and Marni Senofonte. Each judge has made their own mark in the streetwear industry from design to styling. As big names in the business, they know what’s hot and what’s not, so these designers will need to bring their unique flavor to the competition to standout in a highly competitive field.

But streetwear isn’t just an industry. It’s a culture and a lifestyle. As such, the designers will be required to not only bring their eye to each challenge but their sense of history and awareness when it comes to what pops on the street.

The Hype release date

The competition kicks off Thursday, August 12. However, all eight episodes of the series will not be dropping at once, only the first three will be available to stream. New episodes will release weekly on Thursdays.

If you’re on the west coast and you’re looking for a late night binge, you can dive into The Hype at 12:01 a.m. PT on August 12. That’s 3:01 a.m. ET for fashion enthusiasts on the east coast.
