Many of us remember 1992’s Candyman movie haunting our dreams for several nights after watching! Now, a new Candyman is gearing up to scare us all over again. When is the new movie premiering and what will it be about? Here’s everything we know about the upcoming horror movie.

Candyman was supposed to premiere in theaters long ago, but just like all movies and other projects, the pandemic caused a delay.

If you’re not sure whether this is a reboot, revival, prequel, or sequel, we’ve got your back! We also share if this is a movie theater exclusive or if you can stream it from home.

Candyman movie release date

The horror movie will hit the big screen on Aug. 27, 2021.

Unfortunately, the movie does not have a streaming release at the time of this writing. However, Candyman is from Universal, which has Peacock. Some Universal movies also go to HBO Max so we’ll keep you posted as soon as we learn more. It’s possible for the Candyman movie to go to either Peacock or HBO Max shortly after the film’s theater release.

Candyman movie synopsis: What is the movie about?

The movie is a sequel to the events of the original. The story will follow Anthony McCoy, who was kidnapped by the Candyman when he was only an infant. The housing projects of Chicago’s Cabrini Green neighborhood have been torn down and are now luxury condos, but the area continues to be haunted and terrorized by the supernatural killer.
