PAW Patrol 2: Is a PAW Patrol movie sequel happening?

Every home with kids had the PAW Patrol movie playing in their living rooms on the weekend of Aug. 20, 2021. Either that, or the families took a trip to the movie theater to watch Ryder and his crew on the big-screen. Now, every kiddo is asking, is PAW Patrol 2 happening? Is PAW Patrol getting a sequel?

Ryder and his team of pups were supposed to premiere only in theaters, but the pandemic had other plans. In the end, it all worked out. Most fans of PAW Patrol are under the age of five (no shade to older kids who love the cartoon), and kids around that age are not able to sit still for too long.

Needless to say, a movie theater may not be the best place for kids, so a streaming option is perfect.

How did the movie do at the box office and streaming? Was it successful enough for a sequel? Here’s what we know!

Paw Patrol 2 release date: When is the movie coming out?

According to Business Wire, the movie is one of Paramount+’s most-watched originals. Not only did it bring Paramount+ a record number of subscriptions, but the movie enjoyed a theatrical opening of $13.2 million in domestic box office sales (first weekend).

At the time of this writing, the movie has a total of $38.2 million worldwide. While not a large number like we are used to seeing, there’s the pandemic to consider, as well as streaming numbers.

Nothing has been announced yet, but I’m betting it’s only a matter of time before plans for PAW Patrol 2 are announced. And if that’s the case, the movie could be released summer of 2022, as there’s typically 12-16 months between movies.
