We’ve waited all summer for our favorite first responders to return. The wait is almost over. The new season premieres tonight, and we’re jumping straight into a big event.
Titled “Panic,” you just know that something big is happening. There’s a citywide blackout, but this is more than a normal blackout. This has nothing to do with the electricity grid failing.
Instead, it’s all to do with a ransomware attack. Someone has purposely attacked technology. The attacks lead to an overabundance of emergencies that the 118 will need to attend, including a medevac helicopter crash. Will Buck be able to get everyone out of the helicopter before it falls?
What else to expect on the 9-1-1 Season 5 premiere?
The new episode will also see Athena revisit her traumatic attack from the third season. Her attacker, the serial rapist, goes to trial. Of course, she’s going to have to testify in court to make sure he’s sent down for everything that happened.
It’s not going to be easy to relive it all. There’s a moment in the promo where the guy is holding a gun at Athena. Is this happening or is this a nightmare for Athena as she faces her trauma again?
At the end of 9-1-1 Season 4, Maddie realized that she needed help. She’s facing postpartum depression, and that’s getting worse in the 9-1-1 Season 5 premiere.
Then there’s Eddie, who suffers a health scare. Is this linked to being shot during the Season 4 finale?
