It’s easy to understand why so many Friends fans’ favorite character is Chandler. He stands out amongst the other central characters for so many reasons, including his sarcastic humor, relatable flaws, and heartwarming relationships. Chandler grows a lot throughout the 10 seasons, much like the other main characters, and he evolves from a guy who’s afraid of commitment to someone capable of love with a willingness to embrace change.

Chandler is also known for his memorable catchphrases, typically bringing hilarious commentary to whatever his friends are going through. His relationship with Monica, of course, is a favorite for fans. Their budding romance, which leads to marriage and eventually parenthood, is so easy to root for throughout the show. Chandler is also super loyal and supportive of his friends, making for a reliable and great person to have in your corner. He tends to be the glue that holds the friend group together when they’re going through their toughest times.

Given Chandler is such a popular, beloved character, fans of Friends were completely heartbroken when actor Matthew Perry passed away in October of this year. He was 54. Perry’s legacy continues on through his performance as Chandler that people will continue to watch and rewatch for years and years to come.
