There are so many great releases on Netflix throughout the month of October. It’s time to narrow down the selection to five movies and shows to watch.

Getting the full list of Netflix releases in a month is overwhelming. There are just so many movies and TV shows added to the streaming platform. It’s easy to miss some hidden gems and exciting releases.

In September, you may have missed out on Squid Games because of the full list. It’s a great show from Korea that has become a huge hit and you need to watch right away. But what about the new releases in October?

We’ve narrowed down the releases to the top five movies and shows. Keep a look out for your favorites.

The Guilty

Love a thriller? Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the latest one on Netflix. The Guilty follows a cop who has been demoted and is now on 9-1-1 dispatch duty. When he gets a distressing call, he can’t help but throw himself in the case to protect the person on the other end of the phone.

Along the way, he has to face his own past. Will the weight of his past stop him from succeeding in his latest mission?

The Guilty dropped on Netflix on Oct. 1 so you can watch it right now.

Maid

Single moms don’t have things easy. Looking after children is a full-time job, but we have to work at the same time. Maid looks into that, and it’s based on a bestselling memoir.

The limited series follows a single mom who takes on a housekeeping job. She’s struggling to make ends meet, but she has to put on a brave face for he child.

Watch the series on Netflix now, as it dropped on Oct. 1.

You

Joe and Love have started their new life together. They have their baby, and Joe is going to have to figure out how to raise his son so he isn’t a psychopathic stalker. That isn’t going to be easy when Joe has a new addiction: the neighbor next door.

There’s also Love to contend with. It turns out she’s not all that stable herself.

Locke & Key

The second season of Locke & Key arrives on Netflix, and it is certainly going to be a must-watch. This horror series continues its focus on the Locke siblings as they find more keys around their house. They need to protect the keys, but it’s clear they have no idea who they can trust.

There were a lot of questions left over from the first season. The good news is Locke & Key Season 3 is happening, so we don’t have to worry about any leftover questions after Season 2.

Army of Thieves

This movie is a sequel spin-off to the zombie movie Army of the Dead. It’s set in the same Las Vegas as the previous movie, where zombies are now roaming the land. Of course, Las Vegas is filled with vaults that have a ton of gold, money, and more. Thieves want all that so a team is hired for a heist.

Matthias Schweighofer returns as Ludwig from the first movie. He’s now with another team trying to break into another vault.
