New seasons of Nancy Drew and Shark Tank premiered, while new episodes of CBS crime dramas aired. Here are the live TV ratings from Friday, Oct. 8.

The majority of networks aired new episodes of regular shows on Friday, Oct. 8. NBC was the only network to have a rerun, opting for Ordinary Joe in the 8/7c timeslot in an attempt to boost the new series.

Meanwhile, FOX had a night of WWE. SmackDown pulled in a join demo high of the night, matching Shark Tank‘s demo. Its audience was in the middle of all shows that aired.

Nancy Drew and Shark Tank premiere down in the live TV ratings

A lot of the TV ratings were down on Friday, Oct. 8. The CW was the only network to see upward ticks in both the demo and audience. Penn & Teller: Fool Us was up 25% in the demo and 12% in the audience. Penn & Teller fans will have loved their appearance in the Nancy Drew Season 3 premiere the hour later.

However, the live ratings for the new season were down. The demo hit a low of 0.0 and the audience was down 5% compared to the Season 2 premiere to 0.47 million. The good news is this downward tick happened when the show moved from Wednesdays to Fridays, so it would have been expected. There’s a chance we’ll still see a renewal, but it will depend on how the series stabilizes for a Friday night.

Shark Tank debuted a new season. It was down 19% in the demo and 11% in the audience compared to the previous season finale. 20/20 was also down in both metrics compared to its previous season finales. I wouldn’t worry about them too much at this point, though. Shows on Fridays get a little extra leeway.

CBS did see Magnum PI tick up in its demo from its premiere. However, its audience was down 4%. Blue Bloods and SWAT were both down in their metrics but not by a concerning amount just yet. All three shows were still the best of the night in the audience, with Blue Bloods taking the top spot as usual.
