Jason Hayes just can’t catch a break, can he? He’s suffering from memory loss on SEAL Team Season 5, but just how serious is it?

Memory loss can be a serious problem. It could also be relatively minor. Which way will the series go?

During the first two episodes of SEAL Team Season 5, Jason Hayes suffered a “mental glitch,” as Clay put it. He forgot a couple of things, with one of those potentially damaging the entire mission and causing World War III. Things worked out in the end, but Jason needs to be honest with this “mental glitch.”

When he got home, he looked in the fridge and tried a memory game. He couldn’t remember everything in the fridge, and he is clearly worried. Cerberus also got worried about his best friend, and I think it was more heartbreaking watching Cerberus get worried than watching Jason’s fears come out.

How serious is Jason Hayes’s memory loss on SEAL Team Season 5?

Memory loss could be something minor. Stress, anxiety, and depression can all cause memory loss. Even PTSD is linked to memory loss. It’s amazing how mental health problems like this can affect so many elements of the brain and the body.

Hopefully, it is just that. Jason doesn’t really suffer from anxiety, but there could be undiagnosed depression in there. And he could certainly be stressed.

However, this could also be something more serious. Jason has faced head injuries in the past. They may have seemed minor, but his memory loss could be linked to long-term effects of the head injuries. He does have some headaches, which could suggest a TBI (traumatic brain injury). This is something we’ve seen the series cover in the past, with that devastating ending. However, headaches are also linked to stress and depression.

The show has just two more episodes on CBS before moving to Paramount+ exclusively. This storyline is sure to be a season-long thing, so it’s likely going to make a lot of people continue watching on Paramount+ when it moves.
