One episode shows us tons of suspense while the other is unsatisfying.

Moving onto the next episode, I’d be remiss to not include the most recent Halloween episode and that’s Season 12’s “The Pumpkinening.” As the most recent Halloween episode, it shows us an entirely different side of what Halloween can be. Featuring multiple flashbacks to a previous Halloween with Linda and Gayle, this one focuses a lot on suspense and finding out the truth about the past.

While the plotline with Bob and the kids doesn’t get nearly as much attention, it’s some great comedic relief. Gayle isn’t the most lovable character in the series, but as the most recent episode, it’s worth the watch. We’ve watched the Belchers celebrate almost every holiday with Gayle so it’s only right she’d get to be at the center of a Halloween episode.

As for the episode, you should skip, Season 8’s “The Wolf of Wharf Street” is pretty forgettable when looking at others. With a plotline featuring Linda and the kids, they go on a hunt for the “Wonder Wolf” and the results are mixed. Honestly, the episode had the makings of something spooky but the ending really felt like a let-down. If you’re planning on getting spooked this Halloween, then “The Wolf of Wharf Street” should be an episode you avoid.
