NCIS Season 19, Episode 6 found the team figuring out their rhythm as they worked on the case involving a Commander-turned-coach who was found murdered in his office. While also working the case, Nick found himself concerned for one of the athletes who took the man’s death hard. Plus, we also got to see how Alden worked alongside the team as a new leader.

For coming onto the scene after almost two decades of us getting to know and love Gibbs, Alden Parker appeared to make a smooth transition onto the team. Despite the earlier tension and setbacks, he gets to work on the case, clearly showing that while he wants to focus on getting results much like Gibbs, he doesn’t want to try to be him either.

This is a good thing, not just for the team. It’s also good to allow the audience to get to know him and not be made to feel like he is trying to be Gibbs even though he has taken the role of team leader.

He truly is just trying to find his footing with the team and it’s natural there will be bumps along the way. It was good to see that they didn’t try to brush it aside and make it seem as though the team was comfortable with him and vice versa.

NCIS Season 19 Episode 6 saw Alden Parker officially as team leader

Though we really did love the interrogation with McGee as they found a possible witness. Sure, she did have some questionable beliefs about gene manipulation, but she did help with a lead in the case.

The coach, Commander Henry Davis, was beloved by all who knew him. When he is found dead, having been shot with gun loaded with blanks, the team tries to figure out who was involved. It is only after a series of twists and turns that they figure out what happened.

Seeing that one of his athletes, Felix, took Davis’ death hard, Nick decided to take him under his wing in this episode as well. It was great to see Nick take charge, especially as he could relate to losing someone he considered family.

Overall, it was nice to see that the show is making sure to give the team time to figure out this new way of working with Parker. It wouldn’t make sense for this to be an easy transition and we’re looking forward to seeing how these new relationships form between the characters.

Next. The Hocus Pocus cast then and now. dark
