There had been rumors that 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 was going to premiere at the start of January. At the time, FOX hadn’t confirmed anything, but we had hoped that the rumors were true. What we did know at the time was that the show was heading back in early 2022, and January seemed like the obvious month.

FOX has now finalized some winter return dates. The early January premiere date is officially confirmed.

9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 premiere date

We’ll get to start 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, according to TVLine. That is earlier than the second season arrived, but there are a few factors to consider here. Remember that FOX delayed all fall programming for January due to the pandemic, and it’s possible that the later January 2021 premiere date just made more sense also for that reason.

For 2022, it makes more sense to bring shows back as soon as possible. It’s not like the show hasn’t had plenty of time to film and there have been minimal issues with production shutdowns for most shows this year.

As expected, 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 is going to replace 9-1-1 Season 5 in the schedule. Like Seasons 2 and 3, 9-1-1 will go on a hiatus during the winter. It’s likely to return sometime in the spring, potentially in March 2022. Since Lone Star is such a popular show, the series has been held for the new year to offer a strong show while 9-1-1 is on its break.
